By default the router provides NETGEAR as the SSID name for 2.4GHz b/g/n SSID and the default NETGEAR-5G for 5GHz a/n SSID. You can configure the router and change the SSID default names for security reasons.

To create secured connection, the router supports the recent wireless security Wi-Fi Protected Access® (WPA/WPA2-PSK) and WEP, and the Push 'N' Connect with Wi-Fi Protected Setup® (WPS) feature ensures a quick and secure network connection.

To connect the router to the Internet, you need broadband modem (either Cable or xDSL) and Internet services from your ISP. Connect one end of the cross UTP cable (cable that comes with the modem) to the Ethernet port of the modem, and connect the other end to the WAN port of the router.
